Check what your CSV importer returns, not just whether it opens a file. This collection is for developers adding CSV uploads to small web apps who want an explicit, repeatable example contract.
Try the free sample first
The standalone 20-case sample includes reference checkers and the same adapter interface as the full kit. If it covers your needs, you do not need the paid collection.
What the paid collection adds
All 20 sample cases plus 20 additional cases: blank records; reordered, unknown, case-changed, whitespace-changed and quoted headers; semicolon input; leading blank records; empty and duplicate-empty IDs; space-sensitive and Unicode-distinct IDs; literal null text; bare carriage returns; quoted line breaks and empty fields; short rows; late duplicates; repeated headers as data; and late syntax failures.
Each case has literal expected results and returned row values in JSON. Connect your trusted local JavaScript importer through the async adapter interface and compare its results with the documented contract. The kit is a test collection, not an importer.
Included
40 CSV fixtures, a catalogue, JSON expectations, dependency-free Python and JavaScript reference checkers, an adapter runner and example, deliberate-fault tests, and an optional csv-parse comparison with reports and a dialect decision checklist. Original sources are included under the MIT licence.
Tested and limited
Author-run checks covered all 40 fixtures in Python 3.14.4 and Node.js 22.23.4. Result parity covered 52 inputs; tests caught five deliberate policy faults and five faulty adapters. A separate csv-parse 6.1.0 integration matched 39 of 40 cases with each of two settings, failing a different quote-policy case in each. Both disagreements are documented, not hidden.
These are small synthetic examples and application policy choices, not universal CSV compliance rules. No production importer, database persistence, rollback, upload security, performance or customer usability validation is claimed. Expected rejected results contain no returned rows; that does not prove your database rolls back. Adapter modules execute with your permissions: use only trusted code. Core tools need Python or Node.js; the optional comparison downloads its pinned npm dependency. Free csv-spectrum examples or your own fixtures may be sufficient.
